It is baby season right now, and it is very common for raccoons to get into open crawl spaces or attics, and give birth to their young. The raccoon mother has no intention of harming your family or pets. She just wants a warm, dry place to raise her babies.
This is just one of the reason why trapping wildlife is never recommended. If a mama raccoon is trapped and taken away, her babies are left behind. This is something trappers and traditional pest control companies don’t tell their customers.
